Baptism

Whether you are new to church or you have spent your whole life in church, chances are that you
have at least heard of baptism. Do you fully understand baptism though?
Baptism is not new by any means, Jesus himself was baptized. There are many varied meanings and
understanding to baptism today, but nothing has changed on this ancient principal.

Why get baptized?                                                                                Are you ready for                                                                                                                                                         baptism?

We are baptized because we want to declare to the world the great things Jesus has done for us and that he has set us free from the wages of sin. Also, we do it to follow Jesus’s directive to his followers to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matt. 28: 19). Ultimately, we are baptized to show that “just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4).
In the Bible, we see people being baptized once they believed the good news about Jesus Christ (Acts 8:12), and we see them doing so through full immersion in bodies of water. We welcome people to baptism who have made a decision to trust their salvation to Jesus and are ready to publicly declare their commitment to follow him, as Jesus’s disciples did from the earliest times (Acts 10:47).
If you are interested in baptism at Crossroads Christian Church, we would love to schedule time to talk to you. We cannot wait to celebrate together what God has done in your life!
